Privacy Policy

When you create an account we collect the details you provide, such as your email address and profile name. As you use the product we store the research you create, including your watchlists, notes, valuation models, and the funds you choose to follow, so it is there when you return.

How you found us. When you first arrive, your browser notes the campaign parameters and advertising click identifiers in the link you came from, the page you landed on, and the site that referred you. If you create an account, that record is stored with it, so we can learn which of our advertising and posts bring people to Brief Equity. It never includes anything you type.

We use your information to provide and operate the service: to authenticate you, save your work, and deliver the market data, feed, and ownership information you ask for. We do not sell your personal information.

Brief Equity uses session cookies to keep you signed in, and a one-day cookie that records the country and region we detected from your connection, used only to decide whether we need to ask for your consent before measuring advertising. Your browser’s local storage holds your interface preferences, the arrival record described above, and your consent choice.

We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views in aggregate. It sets no cookies and does not track you across sites.

On our public pages we use measurement tags from Google Ads, X and Reddit. They set cookies and may match you to an account you hold with those services, to measure whether their ads led to a signup and to show you Brief Equity ads on those services. They are never loaded inside the research app.

Where the law requires it, including Canada and Europe, these tags stay off until you accept. Everywhere, “Privacy choices” in the footer opens the same controls, so you can decline, or change your mind, at any time. You can also opt out with each service directly: Google ads settings, X privacy controls for tailored advertising, and Reddit privacy settings.

Brief Equity displays market data, news and press releases, and SEC filings sourced from third-party providers and public regulatory systems (including SEC EDGAR). That content is subject to its providers’ own terms. Market data is delayed, not intraday.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a decline. You can withdraw your consent to advertising measurement at any time from “Privacy choices” in the footer.

Your research is yours. You can export all of your notes as a Markdown archive from Settings → Data at any time, and you can delete your account from Settings → Data or by contacting us. Deleting your account removes your research and the arrival record along with everything else.
