About Brief Equity
Brief Equity is the integrated workspace for equity research and tracking.
What it is
Most tools make you choose: a data terminal to read the market, or a notebook to do your own work. Brief Equity is one workspace for both. You track positions, follow a single filterable feed across everything you own, read the whole market when you want the wider view, capture your thesis in connected notes, value companies with your own models, and follow the institutional money, without leaving the page.
A force-directed knowledge graph ties it together, so your watchlists, notes, models, and the funds you follow read as one connected research system.
How it works
Brief Equity is desktop-first, built for focused research sessions. Market data comes from established providers, news and press releases from a market-news service, and filings directly from SEC EDGAR. The data is delayed. Brief Equity is built for research and thesis tracking, not intraday trading.
Who it's for, and who it isn't
Brief Equity is deliberately narrow, and that is the point. It is built for investors who do deep, hands-on research on individual US stocks and want one workspace to track, read, write, model, and follow ownership. If that is you, the focus is the feature.
It is a worse fit if you need other things. The market data is delayed, so it is not for intraday trading. It covers equities only, so there are no ETFs as first-class holdings, and no funds, bonds, options, currencies, or crypto. It is US-focused, desktop-first, and newer and smaller than the big data terminals. If you want broad multi-asset coverage, global data, or timely quotes, a tool like Koyfin or Yahoo Finance will serve you better, and we say as much on our comparison pages.
